In the realm of a child’s development, many aspects play an integral role. Many individuals reckon that the bloodline is more influential as compared to outside factors such as friends, television etcetera in shaping a kid. While opponents of this view are in favor of external factors. This essay will delve into both perspectives before presenting my stance. However, I concur with the former.
To commence with the first notion, there are a plethora of things to be shared in its favor. The first and foremost is that family dynamics heavily influence the children’s patterns of behavior. Since the kid was born, the family has usually been the role model. Infants observe the adults and start to imitate actions, such as speaking what their parents say. Another reason is that their family members teach them codes of ethics and etiquette with valuable life lessons or how to show respect for the elderly from their parents. So, these lessons affect the way they behave when they meet adults. Also, parents encounter many challenges during their young life, so they gain many valuable insights into life, and they know how to distinguish right from wrong for their children’s bright future.
Shifting toward the second school of thought, there are some reasons behind another notion. Firstly, television and other factors have a huge influence on an adolescent’s growth as parents have hectic schedules and in the absence of parents, children like to lessen their monotony by watching programs on television and playing with friends. Consequently, more time with friends and television has more impact on kids’ development. Secondly, they can learn decision-making skills, leadership, and teamwork while playing with their classmates. However, with overexposure to violent movies or playing with
street gangs, children still engage in illegal acts such as drug abuse or sexual assaults even though they are taught the dangers of committing a crime by their parents.
To recapitulate, I feel that other factors like television and friends have a unique impact on children. But these aspects cannot replace the role and responsibility of parents as parents are the best tutors. They not only provide essential startup knowledge to their offspring but also provide cultural and religious importance.
